This is what we wait to hear all year long. Stories coming in from the woods, hunters getting it done, and gear doing exactly what it's supposed to do when the moment finally shows up. Jesse Lee's #Hunt360 story is one of those.
Jesse hunts in Ohio and picked up his 360 Pro XL Hunting Blind from Old Thyme Country Market in Coshocton a few months back. He set the blind up this past summer, on the edge of a bedding zone he knows well. He's hunted that area for six years out of a treestand, staying 100 to 150 yards off the bedding area to keep from getting busted.
Over the summer, he opened up some new ground. Jesse mulched out a small briar patch and put in a food plot right there on the edge. Great spot, but a tough one to hunt from a tree with the way the winds shift through it. That's what pushed him toward the Pro XL.
Here's how he put it:
"This blind has totally changed the way I'm able to hunt this area without worrying about wind. This buck came in from straight downwind of the blind and never knew I was there."
Wednesday night, around 7:10, his number two target buck walked in. Straight downwind and never had a clue that Jesse was in his blind.
Jesse also had a tip worth passing along for anybody on the fence about accessories:
"In my opinion the wall & ceiling foam kit is a must. It cuts down a lot of inside noise."
It was 75 degrees when he arrowed his buck, but a battery fan kept him comfortable inside while he hunted.
A summer of habitat work, a blind that let him get tight to the bedding area without the wind giving him away, and a target buck on the ground in his first season hunting it from a 360. Hard to draw it up better than that.
